Open Day 2017
Saturday 25th June, see you there!
We are all busy planning behind the scenes to ensure the Open Day is a fabulous and fun day for everyone!
So far we have confirmed:
-Safari Stu will be visiting with his array of exotic animals for the children to handle and learn all about!
-P&A Riding School will be attending to offer pony rides.
-'Funtastik Faces' will be here to do the children's face painting.
-Canine Partners will be doing a demonstration of their amazing assistance dogs.
-The Physiotherapy experts from Davies Veterinary Specialists will be on hand to give advice; do on-site assessments and discuss your dogs suitability for physio or hydrotherapy.
-Barking Mad Agility team from Gravely will be demonstrating dog agility and the new craze called 'hooping'.
-We will be holding a Fun Dog Show, all entries on the day. Classes include 'Waggiest Tail','Best Child Handler', 'Dog with most appealing eyes' and 'the dog the judge would most like to take home'. This is very kindly being judged by Clive Elwood MRCVS who may be familiar to some of you as one of the directors from Davies Veterinary Specialists.
You will also be able to have full access to explore 'behind the scenes' and children will get the chance to be a ' vet for the day' as we will set up some practical stations for them to undertake some fun and simple vet tasks.
There will be stalls from three charities : RATS, The Shetland Pony Trust and Canine Partners. You can buy some snazzy animal accessories from Wag n' Walk Boutique; discuss any canine behaviour problems with dog behaviourist Julie Daniels from Thinking Paws; have a mini photo shoot including great offers from Del Waghorn, The Dog Photographer; Gemma Grubb will have a stall offering beautifully presented doggy or family trees; Rudi from The Doggie Bakery will be selling a plethora of tasty and unusual doggy treats and Teresa Raymond will be offering some fabulous doggy-themed home ware.
All of this as well as a raffle and a guest appearance by a super-cute Shetland pony who will be presenting a challenge to guess her name.
Of course, no fun day would be complete without refreshments so the tea will be flowing which must obviously be drunk with a large portion of cake! Ice cream will be available from Tonis Ices and local business Boss Hogs will be providing burgers and hot dogs.
We really hope you can all come and join us, it is sure to be a great day and a lovely chance to meet you all in a more fun and relaxed environment.
I've even ordered the sunshine!
The Funniest Horse Photograph competition is open on our Facebook page now! Please vote for your favourite! Winner will be announced at the Open Day.
